The towers of
the suspension bridge are diamond shaped so that two catenaries
are spread out from the top of one tower. In order to
keep the transmission of the reaction to the substructure
uniform, high precision is required for the slope (1/10000
or less) when fixing base plates.
To keep the vertical precision of the tower, the verticality
of 1/5000 is required. The tower is divided into three
large blocks for fabrication and erection: the base, the
lower part, and the upper part. The blocks are field spliced
using high tension bolts.
