Outfitting
in the pneumatic caisson method means the preparation
of neces-sary equipments for the steel caisson such as
air locks, shafts, forms, struts, and so forth. Major
equipments for the caisson are material lock to remove
excavated soil, capsule lock to control working chamber
under atmospheric pressure, man lock for workmen, and
hospital lock for emergency repressurizi-ng. Other equipments
are generator, air supply units, removal units, etc. For
E1 tower, jacket frame was used to place equipments. For
W1 tower, SEP was used to house equipments. Shafts were
fabricated and installed on the steel caisson at the shop.
