In the Pneumatic caisson
method, excavation is carried out in a working chamber under
air pressure. The air pressure is sufficient enough to offset
some portion of the ambient hydrostatic head at the depth, thus
restricting the inflow of water and soil. Advantages of the
Pneumatic caisson method are as follows:·easy to manage the
construction in a small area |
