The strand
shoe rod is subjected to variable tensile loading:
maximum loading is 195.4 tonf and minimum loading
is 188.9 tonf.
Therefore, the fatigue strength of the rod was needed
to be tested. The rod (dia.=106mm and length=2000mm)
with the skew angle of 1℃ to reflect construction
error was installed on the 200 tonf fatigue testing
machine. The test showed that the rod had enough
fatigue strength.
