Mockup Cat walk Test |
|
The catwalk
is the aerial scaffolding to perform cable erection
work and erected on the cat walk ropes. The catwalk
system for the Bridge was expected to have problems
during the erection of the cables because of the
sag ratio and the spatial cable system.
The inclined angle of the catwalk near the tower
top is about 41¡É. As the main cables are linked
to the stiffening truss by the suspenders, the shape
of the center span cables changes from straight
to curve. During the transition, the catwalk needs
to be bent and follow the transition of the cables.
The mockup tests were conducted to deal with above
mentioned problems. The tests showed that the steps
were needed near the tower top. The intertwined
wire mesh catwalk system were required to accommo-date
the transition of the main cable. |
