Incheon International Airport

The Asian and Pacific region is expected to account for about 50 percent of global air traffic by 2010, and of this, more than 70 percent will be generated in China, Korea and Japan.

As a result of these projections, Incheon International Airport (IIA) was developed to cope with such growth in aviation demand. The airport site covers 5,617 hectares of reclaimed land. Upon total completion by 2020, the airport will boast four 4,000-meter runways along with terminal and other facilities, in order to accommodate 100 million passengers and seven million tons of cargo each year.

Additionally, the region surrounding the new airport is being developed with multi-functional facilities, including residential areas, resorts and commercial, international business, logistics, industrial, educational and research facilities in a proximate Airport Town Square. Geographically, IIA is not only at the heart of Northeast Asis;

it is also ideally located as a hub for North American and European air routes. This contributes substantially to IIA's position as one of the major air traffic centers, featuring excellent services and state-of-the-art facilities, in the world for the new century.
